THE BIRTHING OF A VISION
In 2014, the Lord laid it on Allison's heart to do something special for girls. In the relationships she had begun building with scores of girls from many different places and walks of life, she saw a need for a time in which girls could get away from the pressures of life and and really fall in love with Jesus, as well as experience fellowship and form lasting friendships with other girls that love Jesus too. She started seeing a vision of a girls' weekend that would be a collision of a giant slumber party and a Jesus-focused conference. The first Young Women's Retreat was held in the fall of 2014. Girls from all over the US converged in Iowa for a time of fellowship, both spiritual + physical rest, and input from several inspiring speakers.
A PEEK BEHIND THE SCENES:
Imagine this……..soft music wafting through the air, a few girls sitting here, chatting and laughing while holding their fancy coffee drinks, a group of girls over there just coming back from a leisurely walk. Soon they gather to hear counsel and advice from a Godly woman a few years further down the path of life. A little later, they break into small groups to share and pray together. Now they all sit down for a fancy dinner with gourmet food. After dinner, they nibble on cheesecake as they enjoy games and more laughter.
And there you have it….a typical evening at a Young Women's Retreat.
